Adult Education Offering

Beginning September 19

Travis McMaken will be presenting an adult education offering on the Scots Confession beginning September 19.  Adult Education offerings are held in the Covenant Room at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings. 

The Scots Confession is one of three confessions from the 16th century that were included in the PCUSA Book of Confessions as one of the denomination's subordinate theological standards.  It is a short and lively confession, written in only four days.  In the course of four weeks (September 19, September 26, October 3, and October 10),  we will listen to what this confession has to tell us about God and our Presbyterian identity, with the goal of developing the ability to give an answer for the hope that is within us.

Fall Mission Trips:

October 3-9 Mission trip to Tuba City Presbyterian Church (Navajo Reservation, Arizona)

There will be a Mission trip to Tuba City during the first week in October. Pluckemin Church helped renovate Tuba City’s run down sanctuary in 2008. In 2009, some Pluckemin people helped Emmanuel Presbyterian from Thousand Oaks, California, replace the sanctuary roof. Emmanuel Presbyterian is organizing a trip in October to finish renovating a building so that it may be rented.  Tuba City Presbyterian is a financially poor congregation on the Navajo Reservation. The reservation has had 60-70% unemployment for decades and 40% of the people still do not have running water. A rented building would help the financially strapped church pay operating expenses, especially electric and propane for heating.  Emmanuel Pres. has asked for Pluckemin help. November 6-13 Caldwell Presbyterian trip to the Gulf Coast
