Music Programs

"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song"  (Psalm 95:1, 2).

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs"  (Psalm 100:1, 2)

"The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpts, cymbals and other instruments, they raised thier voices in praise to the Lord and sang..." (II Chronicles 5:13)

The music program at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church has a rich tradition of performing the highest quality of music to the glory of God. The music offered is a blend of traditional, classical, and contemporary styles. The Sunday morning worship service consists of an organ or piano prelude and postlude, hymns, praise songs, choral anthems, and handbell offertories. At times, the worship service features special music with guest soloists and instrumentalists.

The program consists of two singing choirs and three handbell choirs, which rehearse on a weekly basis. There is a high degree of commitment among the members of our voice and bell choirs. The Director of Music, Noel Sell, administers the entire program, performs all organist duties, and conducts the Sanctuary Choir. The Associate Director of Music, Valerie Sell, administers all music related youth activities, conducts two handbell choirs and one vocal ensemble. The music program also is blessed to have an additional Handbell Director, Marcia Waage McBurney, on its staff.

The musical instruments used for leading worship are an Allen Renaissance Model 350 three manual digital organ and a Yamaha baby grand piano. There is also a Yamaha upright console piano for the purpose of accompanying choir rehearsals. The church also owns a three and five octave set of Malmark handbells and a five-octave set of Malmark choir chimes.
