The Board of Deacons represents the heart of servant ministry here at Pluckemin.  Deacons serve in a variety of ministries that support and affirm our congregational life.

The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. (Book of Order G-6.0401)

It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. (Book of Order G-6.0402a)

The ministries of our deacons include:

Deacon on Call (organizing emergency care)

Visiting Shut Ins and Others

Maintaining Our Chancel

Ordering Flowers for Weekly and Special Worship Services

Sending cards for Special Occasions and Remembrances

Administering Our Weekly Coffee Hour

Coordinating Usher Schedules and Responsibilities

Coordinating Health Ministry Events

Serving With Our Congregational Care Commission
